I love books and I love reading, there is no question about that. It's just that I have a tendency to either buy a bundle of them or receive a bundle of them all at once and I can never keep up. I also will start a book and get near the middle and then get distracted by another book. I end up finishing that book and either starting a new one or get distracted by the WoW or the internet in general and I never finish the book that was initially intended. My other problem is I purposely read slowly because I hate it when a book is over (unless it's just a really bad book). Which brings me to my current book guilt issue.
I started
Neil Gaiman's American Gods and then happened to make another trip to the bookstore. I came home with these:
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle - I've only ever seen the movie and read excerpts from the book. I figured it was time to sit down with the real thing.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - Look, Rochester is simply misunderstood. *loves him*
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde - I've never read this book but have always wanted to, so *shrug*.
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy - This was my sole New Year's Resolution.
Now,
War and Peace being, well,
War and Peace, I had already planned on reading at least one other book along with it. It's not like I don't read multiple books at one time anyway. That also could be contributing to my book A.D.D. I guess I will finish
American Gods as my first
War and Peace partner. Hehe, that is what I will call them,
War and Peace partners. I'll be honest, I'm a bit intimidated by this book. But I think that's mostly because people talk about how impossible it is to finish. *shrug* I love Russia and Russian history so I probably won't find it so difficult. However, it might take me a
really long time to finish it the way I read!
Anyway, a friend of mine won't get off my back about
American Gods so I promised him I'd finish it by Sunday.
